PLOT SO FAR

ARC I
Month One
THE CATALYST
The first wave of characters wakes up in Wayward Pines, memories hazy and duplicitous. These are the first new residents to claim to be from somewhere other than this world, and along with that, they're the first to almost unanimously fail to trust the relaxing, suburban life they vividly remember having. The rest of the town can sense the change, growing uneasy at the slightest mention of things that don't belong. It's the first hitch in the blissful illusion that Ortech has created within the town of Wayward Pines.
Month Two
THE ILLNESS
All at once, a decent chunk of the population falls mysteriously ill. Indigestion leads to nausea, but it doesn't stop there. Then comes pins and needles in the extremities, then shortness of breath and slurred speech. The only insight the hospital can offer: Symptoms seem to get worse with hydration. A small team of volunteers investigate the river and uncover a corpse, debatably human in nature. Despite police interference, they manage to whisk the corpse off to one of their homes to experiment on until it abruptly disappears.
Month Three
The Flood
With a resounding crack, all of the pent-up meltwater from Month One's heavy snow comes pouring over the walls of the cliff, flooding northern Wayward Pines and the area around it. But that's not all that our brand new waterfall has in store. A scattering of boulders tumble over the cliffs, followed by chunks of an aircraft with technology decades more advanced than the 1990's they're supposedly living in. The waterfall eventually runs dry, and the flooding recedes.
Month Four
The Recall
A supposed 'accidental fumble' of words at the tail end of a mildly erratic address from Mayor Townsend jogs a memory loose in the minds of many residents of Wayward Pines - a memory of Ortech's lab, hazy and semiconscious but damning nonetheless. A team goes to interrogate the Mayor, but he seems like he doesn't have many more answers than they do.
Month Five
The Breach
Seemingly out of the blue, on a perfectly normal Saturday, the fence surrounding Wayward Pines kicks into high gear and debilitates everyone who strays more than 100 yards from town. Why? Because a telekinetic troublemaker actually managed to create a fissure in Ortech's defenses, which (despite Ortech's best efforts) gave a horde of aberrations room to breach the fence and invade Wayward Pines. They're ultimately driven out of the town proper, at least during the daylight hours, and the Sheriff and his crew + any number of combat-ready residents comb the woods to eliminate the stragglers.
Month Five (Again)
The Truth
In the wake of the aberration invasion, there's no room left for pretty lies or fancy illusions. Homes are destroyed. People are dead. No one has the patience left to play pretend. So Ortech comes clean, releasing the truth surrounding Wayward Pines. It sheds light on why and how the town exists and what lies outside the fence... but reveals another mystery still. If Ortech isn't responsible for bringing individuals to this world, who is?
