We present to you a solidified timeline of events of the Outbreak plot as follows:
On March 25th, upon learning that the town's water source (which he, among others, had realized was the source of the symptoms) is the river spanning the north end of town, Jack (comic_relief) decided to investigate.

Jack, Ibaraki (dehanded), & Nyx (sirnyxalot) located a disturbance in the waters along the stretch of riverbank that the construction sought to firm up, before the symptoms hit and the project was put on hold. Jack began to poke it with a stick and discovered that the hazy water concealed something semi-solid sticking out of the riverbank. Ibaraki grabbed it and pulled, and successfully tore an actual rotting arm out of the riverbank.

While Jack & Nyx looked for a shovel to uncover whatever the arm was attached to, Ibaraki... well. She familiarized herself with her prize, discovering a hollow bullet in the bicep of the arm.

Once a shovel was discovered at the nearby construction site, they began to dig and a full body was uncovered. It was generally human-shaped, but seemed a little... off. At that point, Nyx examined the corpse, but otherwise the trio was at a loss for how to properly proceed.

The decision was reached to bring more people to look at the body, people who might actually be able to glean information from what they're seeing, so Nyx volunteered to sit guard overnight while they found people to come check it out. Soon, his guard duty was joined by an invisible Eliza (dragoness).

The night of the 25th was relatively peaceful, though it's quite possibly just because Nyx was sitting guard. But it was hard to shake the unnerving sense that someone or something was 'out there' - and Eliza, stealthy in her invisibility, tracked that presence as best she could from afar. She didn't catch much, just the fact that they were human and a few scattered words or phrases.

On the 26th, Eliza posted a lovely announcement in which she bragged about the discovery to the network at large, which disappeared less than five minutes later. She was summoned for questioning (plus a strongly-worded warning), but the main consequence was that suddenly, the police seemed to have taken notice of the discovery.

Shortly after the aforementioned network announcement, a policeman showed up at the corpse. By this time, Junyoung (naneunyulyeongibnida), Bucky (zymasoldat), Izumi (bulletfool), and Cassian (ouzel) had also arrived at the scene, but the policeman immediately cleared everybody out of the newly-declared "crime scene", taping off the area and scouting a path along the treeline.

However, they could not be deterred. Upon being chased away from the scene, they began to formulate a plan. Nyx recruited Rachel (smuttywitch) to help them out, while Bucky recruited Steve (paragon) and his station wagon, with Prompto (failtography) coming along for the ride. The group then circumvented the immediate treeline to sneak back in to the body.

Upon arrival, Prompto took pictures of the body and the hole it was buried in, Rachel charmed the body to look less like an actual corpse, and under cover of the diversion offered by Ibaraki blowing up a cop car, the group smuggled the body from the woods, into Steve's station wagon, across the town, and into a bathtub in the Rogers-Romanoff-Barnes household. (Ibaraki, on the other hand, went straight to jail. It's safe to assume she did not pass 'GO'.)

Over the next day or so, Junyoung undertook a series of medical and scientific tests, with results of varying usefulness. He arrived at a very good hypothesis.

Unfortunately, on the 28th of March (and despite the best efforts of the individuals involved in protecting it), the body disappeared from the Rogers-Romanoff-Barnes residence, leaving a spotless bathtub in its wake. Residents of the household noticed that all destroyed cameras had been precisely re-installed.
