She gets a uniform and a badge, as well as a handbook (it's basically 'how to be a good police officer', with official protocols + handy advice). After her first trial month, she'll receive the keys to a cruiser for her own use. For now, she's on foot or ride-alongs with a current policeman. In fact, she's given an officer to hang around for the first couple of weeks as a sort of in-action training process. (If you need more details on him, we can absolutely give you some!)

It's also suggested she create a designated firearms training course (or certification, if she's already trained in firearms) before she's given a standard-issue handgun. Both are offered through the police station to current employees.
